This month we are featuring a huge list of fizzing doughs from No-Cook to Microwaved and everything in between. We had fun making ice-cream fizzy dough as our little experiment!
If you've been following me from the very beginning you'll know how much Squiggles and Bubbles love fizzy dough.
When I asked Bubbles what kind of fizzy dough she'd like to make this month she decided she'd like to make pretend ice-cream. To make our fizzy ice-cream dough we followed the same recipe as our Fizzing Pavlova with a few little tweaks.
I chose to make the dough myself simply so I could have the invitation to play set up when the girls awoke from their nap.Bubbles and Squiggles would have been more than capable of helping in this step.
To invite the girls to play with and explore the dough I simply set it
out in a sundae cup in a shallow container (to catch the liquid and any
mess!) along with an old ice-cream topping container full of lemon juice
and a container of old sprinkles.
Bubbles and Squiggles had a ball decorating their ice-cream. So much so that I ended up raiding my spice rack for additional 'sprinkles' (aka herbs).
Once the girls were happy with the amount of sprinkles on their
ice-cream it was time to add the topping! The girls squeals of delight
when they realised the dough was of the fizzing variety were awesome!
They took turns pouring the lemon juice on, watching the dough fizz and then pouring more juice on and watching it fizz again, and again, and again. Until all that was left was this:
