Sand Foam Dough

Welcome back for another month of  12 Months of Sensory Dough Recipes where several bloggers get together to share the exciting sensory dough recipes and a variety of twists and turns. It is our hope that you will have a one-stop resource for all things Sensory dough!

This month we are featuring a huge list of sand doughs from no-cook to microwaved and everything in between. We experimented with Sand Foam Dough!

I've been really looking forward to this month's Sensory Dough. Ever since I saw Little Bins for Little Hands Sand Foam I really wanted to give it a go; and this month I had an excuse!

Sarah's Sand Foam looked awesome-fluffy, creamy and almost slime-like in movement. For the directions on how to make your own Sand Foam jump on over to Little Bins for Little Hands.

Unfortunately, I got the ratios wrong and we ran out of shaving cream before we got that light, airy, whipped cream consistency and instead ended up with wet, slightly foamy sand.

Whilst Bubbles declined my invitation to play, Squiggles eagerly plunged her hands into the slimy sand and spent a good five minutes simply exploring the dough with her hands.

Squiggles then disappeared inside before reappearing moments later with some silicone patty pans and candles. She spent the next three minutes making sand cupcakes before declaring "I finished."

And that, my friends, was that. I left the dough out so that the girls had access to it for another week, but no matter how I set it out, neither Squiggles nor Bubbles showed any interest in playing with it again.

Now for the fun part…

Would you call this recipe and activity a success or a fail? Would you try this recipe or have you tried another? We want to see! You can share pictures to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or Google+. Tag your pictures with #ilovesensorydough.

Be sure to check out each blogger, as we will each provide a different take on the dough, some of us with have the BEST recipe ever, while others (like me!) will show you our attempts (both failed and successful).
