Valentine's Day Bubble Mix

Now that Nurture Store's Simple play:: complex learning series has finished, I'll be posting a few Valentine's Day inspired play ideas in the lead up to Valentine's Day. Today I'm sharing our Valentine's Day Bubble Mix.

This play was so simple to set up but was lots of fun to play with and gave our normal bubble play a little bit of a lift.
Valentine's Day Bubble Mix
What you need:
Bubble mixture (homemade or store bought-we used store bought as I've yet to succeed in making homemade bubble mix!)
Red glitter
Strawberry essence

How to make:
Place your bubble mix in a shallow container.
Add 4-6 drops of strawberry essence, until fragrant.
Sprinkle a thin layer of red glitter, so that the surface of the bubble mix is covered.
Give the mixture to your little ones along with some heart shaped bubble wands. (We used a pipecleaner and cookie cutter.)
Have fun blowing, catching, popping bubbles and watching the glitter explode!

Bubble blowing has to be one of my favourite activities to do with the girls as Squiggles enjoys watching and chasing the bubbles as much as Bubbles enjoys blowing them. What's your favourite baby and preschooler activity (feel free to link it up below)?

Please always supervise your infant/child at play.  Please stay within arms reach and never leave infants/children unattended.  You know you're infant/child best, use your own judgement-considering your infant/child's temperament, habits, behaviour and development before you play with a new play medium.
