Valentine's Day Inspired Landart

This week we went to the park and created a piece of Valentine's Day inspired landart!
This activity was motivated by Bubbles who declared she wanted to 'draw a picture' and 'go to the park' and inspired by Growing a Jeweled Rose's Nature Painting. As soon as Bubbles told me her objectives for our day I decided to combine them, at first Bubbles wasn't sure how we could draw a picture at the park but once I started suggesting we could use leaves and bark she got quite excited adding in that we could also use sticks and gumnuts!

We put on our sunscreen and hats and then set off to the park-along the way Bubbles started collecting sticks and fallen bark. When we arrived at the park Bubbles chose a nice piece of grass to create her masterpiece. We spent a little time discussing what we could make when Bubbles decided that we should make a BIG heart! I was prepared to give quite a bit of help but I should have know better-Bubbles sat down on the grass and had a great time placing her sticks and other nature objects on the ground one way and then another until she ended up with a pretty awesome heart shape.

Once Bubbles was happy with her creation, I brought out my suprise! You'll have to jump over to Growing a Jeweled Rose to find out what it was but Bubbles was absolutely thrilled!

What landart have you made with your little one lately?

Please always supervise your infant/child at play.  Please stay within arms reach and never leave infants/children unattended.  You know you're infant/child best, use your own judgement-considering your infant/child's temperament, habits, behaviour and development before you play with a new play medium.
